You may have seen my daughter, Eve’s, nursery design, as well as a list of my nursery must-haves previously blogged. I’m excited to receive kind and generous editorial coverage in both House Beautiful and Modern Luxury Interiors Texas. Now I am finally able to share the full reveal of my little girl’s nursery design!
This room has become a central gathering place in our home. With room on the daybed, we often end up snuggled together, reading a story or catching up on our day. Scroll on for all the details and imagery!
“Contained by goldleaf borders, the flowers climbing up the walls of designer Marie Flanigan’s newborn daughter’s room are actually mural wallpaper. Today, the daybed is “a cozy spot for late-night feedings, but one day it’ll be her big-girl bed, with a trundle for sleepovers,” the Houston Designer says. Stylish, ageless, multi-purpose furniture is always a good investment.”
Step into the garden. Or, in this case, a chic, botanically-inspired nursery designed for my charming baby girl. A floral mural directs the room’s color story. Gold leaf-painted paneling, antique accents, and Hunt Slonem bunnies create an exquisite sense of whimsy. A Jenny Lind crib rests atop an Oushak rug offering a view of the antique carved mirror and white linen bird and branch mobile above.
“Marie Flanigan answers to many names: architect, interior designer, artistic mastermind – the list goes on. But when she’s home, she simply answers to ‘Mom’. Recently, the Houston-based mother of three designed a picture-perfect nursery for her first daughter, who was born in late January. ‘I made it feminine and whimsical,’ Flanigan says, ‘a space full of color and texture.’ “
