We are jumping for joy for the Royal Point Reveal on House Beautiful this month! This Kingwood, Texas home was the perfect opportunity for a total-home refresh. Once an overly opulent 1990s home, the renovation allowed for a more traditional design, modern flow and updated aesthetic. Overall, perfect for this family of six to entertain guests of all ages.
In the bathroom, the homeowners are greeted by a white, spa-like surrounding. To surprise his wife, the family patriarch had the design team commission Segreto Finishes to add three-dimensional plaster wall flowers. To make the bathroom ceiling stand out, the team expanded and heightened the tray and added a fluted detail. Also, the fluting matches the plaster walls with some faux painting. Above all, the show-stopping Hollywood Hardware tub sits in the center of the room, making a luxurious statement. The space showcases stunning Jorge Saba Calacatta Borghini countertops and Ann Sacks Calacatta Borghini flooring. The bathroom’s before is in the carousel below!
Some of the elements as requested by the homeowners included light, bright colors with warm earth tones, blues, and greens. We love the delineation between separate entertaining areas, including space for their impressive wine collection, a study and office nook for the patriarch and matriarch, a large kitchen, open living area, stunning sitting room and impressive outdoor space.
The Royal Point primary suite was the perfect opportunity to transform a dated, early-90s space into a bright, serene, and more traditional retreat. The original ceiling of the primary suite was a smaller barrel vault. However, clad with a pecky cypress, the new ceiling allows for a natural delineation between the room and immense ceiling height. A David Iatesta Leiden chandelier hangs prominently at the ceiling’s center as the beautiful cypress carries through the adjoined seating area’s walls and ceiling.
We truly feel like the updated design of this home gave the family the space and functionality they required. Stay tuned as we reveal the before and after’s of each space on our blog!
